Hello First Baptist Church family,

It’s been six weeks since we have gathered together and worshipped in the sanctuary. If you’re like me, you have been praying every day for the opportunity to be back together. Well, through much prayer and preparation, we will be back together beginning this Sunday, May 3.

While I am excited to be worshipping with you in person, again, we will be implementing some guidelines in order for us to stay safe and healthy while we are together. Included with this letter is our new church protocol for worshipping in our facilities. Please take a moment and read it. If you have any questions you can give me a call. My number is at the end of this letter.

One thing you will notice immediately in the protocol (FBC_COVID-19_Protocol_5.5.2020.png) is we will hold two worship services. One will be at 9 am and the other at 11 am. Due to the social distancing guidance handed down by our governor, we will have to limit the number of people who can be in the sanctuary at one time. Hopefully, having two services will allow everyone to worship on Sundays. If you choose not to attend or you are not able to attend, we will be recording services each Sunday. It will be available for viewing on our YouTube Channel and our website. Also, we will NOT have any other ministries at this time, including nursery, children’s church, Sunday School and Wednesday night activities.

I understand this is not the way we have always done it. So, I ask you to be patient with this process. Eventually, it is our goal to transition back to normal services and functions. However, we do not know when that will be. We will keep you updated as the process unfolds.

Finally, the church office will reopen on Monday, May 4, with regular hours. If you need to meet with one of the pastors, please make an appointment.

I want you all to know how much I love and appreciate our church family. I have spoken with many of you over these last six weeks and I am grateful to hear all that you have been doing to help one another and our community. I have also appreciated your encouraging words. You don’t know how much that has meant to me, my family and David and Ally during this time.

I look forward to seeing you all Sunday, May 3. Again, please read the included protocol before you come to church.

Roger Naylor, Senior Pastor

Hello First Baptist Church family,

While the Governor’s 21-Day Stay-Home Order is scheduled to end April 15, we know that the order may continue through the end of April. So, in order to comply and to keep our community safe and healthy, we will continue to hold online services and activities until the order is lifted.

While I am disappointed that we will not be able to meet in-person, we have various ways you can continue to worship and connect online.

  • Sunday Service is posted at 11 am on Facebook, YouTube and our website. You can watch it on demand any time after it is posted.
  • Wednesday Mid-Week Reboot is posted at 6:30 pm on Facebook, YouTube and our website. Again, you can watch it on demand any time after it is posted.
  • Wednesday Base Camp Student Ministry Zoom Session is held at 6 pm for students in grades 6th through 12th. (Contact David Pryor if you want your student to participate.)
  • Special Easter Weekend Services will be posted on Good Friday and Easter Sunday on Facebook, YouTube and our website. See the schedule of services by clicking here: Easter_Online_Final.png.

Currently, our church office is closed. However, David, Ally and I are working from our homes during the hours of 9 am until 4 pm. If you need to reach us, please email or call. Our contact information is below. We are checking the church mail each day, also.

I also want to take a moment to tell each of you how much you are appreciated. It is wonderful to see so many of you reaching out and helping one another. Also, thank you for your faithful giving and prayers. We have an amazing church, and it is great to see how we are responding in such uncertain times as these.

Finally, Evelyn Rae made some face masks. They will be available at the church. If you want one, please contact me. We appreciate her doing this and offering them to our church family.

Remember, if you or someone you know has a need, please contact us. If you have any questions or concerns about anything covered in this letter or the Easter weekend schedule, please contact me by phone or email.

March 26, 2020

Hello First Baptist Church family,

On March 25, our Governor issued a 21-Day Stay-Home Order (Stay_at_home_order.png) in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While this is a difficult time for all of us, we want to make sure we do our part to keep our church family and community safe and healthy. So, the church offices will be closed, effective immediately. Along with this closure, all ministries will continue to be suspended at least through the 21 days. If you need to contact me or Pastor David for any urgent ministry needs, please contact us at the numbers below.

We will continue to live stream our services on Sunday at 11 am. This is a time for all of us to join together online via the First Baptist Church Facebook page and YouTube Channel. So, take a moment and “Like” the FBC Facebook page or subscribe to the FBC YouTube Channel so that you can receive any notifications. The services will also be recorded and available at any time on our website at www.fbcbonnersferry.org as soon as they conclude.

Our Base Camp Student Ministry will also have services via “Zoom” on Wednesday, at 6 pm. Contact Pastor David to learn how your student can be involved in this online gathering.

We also want to encourage you to please continue to give by going to our website or by mailing your gift to the church address. We will be checking the mail daily.

Please take time to reach out and check on friends, family, neighbors, etc. If you or someone you know needs any assistance, please contact me. We want to minister to you and our community however we are needed.

We encourage each of you to continue to follow the current Stay-Home Order. This will help to make sure you keep yourself and others safe and healthy.

Most importantly, let us pray. Pray for our nation and leaders, our world and that God would heal those who are currently sick.

We pray these changes will be temporary. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, make decisions accordingly and notify you immediately of any actions we take.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by phone or email at pastorroger@fbcbonnersferry.org.

March 17, 2020

Hello First Baptist Church family,

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to change daily. In fact, in the past couple of days, our national and state leaders have asked all of us to avoid assemblies of more than 10 people. As always, we want to make sure we do our part to keep our church family and community safe and healthy.

With much prayer and discussion, we are suspending ALL First Baptist Church ministries, effective immediately through March 29. This includes our Sunday and Wednesday activities. Our church office will remain open during this time, 9 am until 4 pm, Monday through Thursday.

While we will not be able to gather together in person, we will live stream special services on Sunday March 22 and 29, at 11 am. This will be a time for all of us to join together online via the First Baptist Church Facebook page. These special services will be recorded and available at any time on our website at www.fbcbonnersferry.org. We also want you to know that you can continue to give online at our website or by mailing your gift to the church address.

We pray these changes will be temporary. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, make decisions accordingly and notify you immediately of any changes. We will reassess the situation on March 30 and decide our next steps.

We also want to take this time to encourage you to reach out and check on friends, family, neighbors, etc. If you or someone you know needs any assistance, please contact the church office. We want to minister to you and our community however we are needed.

We also encourage you to continue to follow the current COVID-19 guidance. This will help to make sure you keep yourself and our community safe and healthy.

Most importantly, let us pray. Pray for our nation and leaders, our world and that God would heal those who are currently sick.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 208.267.3215 or email us at office@fbcbonnersferry.org.

Thanks,

Pastor Roger Naylor

Hello First Baptist Church family,

As we all know, there are a lot of concerns regarding the recently declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Currently, we have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our community. Certainly, we know that could change at any moment. However, our community is seeing cases of seasonal flu.

As always, we want to make sure we do our part to keep our church family and community safe and healthy. While we will continue to hold regular services and activities at this time, we are taking precautions to keep our facilities clean and safe for you.

So, here are a few things we are doing:

  • Cleaning the facilities each week after our Sunday and Wednesday services
  • Providing hand sanitizer throughout our facilities for your use
  • Monitoring the health of our members
  • Monitoring updates for our community and our state.

Here are a few things we can all do:

  • Wash our hands with soap and water
  • Do not touch our faces without washing our hands before and after
  • Cover our coughs or sneezes (not with our hands)
  • Do NOT attend any services/activities if we are sick.

Most importantly, let us pray. Pray for our nation and leaders, our world and that God would heal those who are currently sick with these illnesses.

COVID-19 and seasonal flu are serious illnesses. Taking the necessary precautions can help keep our community and our church safe.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at 208.267.3215 or email us at office@fbcbonnersferry.org.

Thanks,

Pastor Roger Naylor
